I am a tenant renting a flat.

Me and owner signed our rent agreement, which says that the tenancy will start from 1 November.

The owner is asking to pay rent and deposit in advance so that he can proceed with gate pass formalities in society and mail to society staff, etc. I have already gave 15k out of 56k as advance.

Is it normal to pay in advance for gate pass etc
