I am planning to leave my PG in Bengaluru without giving notice through the Colive app or following the one-month notice period.
Colive is now asking me to pay notice-period charges even though I didn’t serve the notice. My security deposit is ₹23,000. The app shows a final settlement of -₹4,268. This includes ₹20,451 in notice charges and ₹6,817 in separation fees. That means they are deducting more than my deposit amount and I could end up paying extra after I leave.
I don’t want to accept these charges. My plan is to leave without clicking "accept" on the app or agreeing to the notice period. I believe they will still deduct the charges from my deposit. I don’t want to be bound by their terms just by using their app.
Has anyone else had an experience with Colive or another PG in Bengaluru?
I would really appreciate advice on how to handle this. Should I go ahead. Move out without agreeing to the app’s terms? Is there any way to dispute these charges later? What steps can I take to protect my deposit and avoid being forced to pay more? Any advice, on what to say to Colive or what documents I should keep would help.
